How to make the gospel of Jesus

relevant to the aches and pains of man!

 NUTRITION-FOR-LIFE

       Pathway To Wholeness

"And He took a little child, and set him in their midst, and taking him into his arms, he said to them…

"Whoever receives one such little child for My sake, receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him Who sent Me".

What did Jesus teach about human nutrition?

Imagine places where people get old without getting sick and where they die peacefully in their sleep at the end of a ripe old age. In fact, many books have been written about such places since Weston Price D.D.S. wrote NUTRITION AND PHYSICAL DEGENERATION first published in 1938 with many editions since.  The latest is THE BLUE ZONES by Dan Buettner. There is a "blue zone" right here in the USA. It's called Loma Linda California where people get old without getting sick.

Why not make the whole USA a blue zone? What not the whole world? Imagine…no drugs, no hospitals, ho health insurance, no psychiatrists, no jails, no medical bills…it must be close to heaven.

Can God be that good? If God is that good surely Jesus must have said something about it. Let’s see…

"Take no thought what you shall eat …look at the birds of the air and the lilies of the field etc., your Father takes care of them. How much more you, O you of little faith".

From the above you might think Jesus is saying "eat and drink any old thing" but that is not what He is said. What Jesus said is TRUST THE SYSTEM "O you of little faith".  That's a far cry from "trust the mad scientists who want to genetically re-engineer the human food supply".

"What goes into the mouth does not defile a man; but it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles a man"…might also seem to mean "eat and drink any old thing". But what came out of the mouth and heart of Jesus was respect for life and respect for the wholeness in life and of life. We see this over and over in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

We don’t have to take thought because God in heaven took thought to make the organic fruits, vegetables, whole grains, herbs, sunshine, clean air and water, and all we need to live a long, healthy, and full life "for your Father knows you have need of these things." .

God took thought. He even told us that He took thought. We won’t quote all parts of scripture that support this idea. There are too many. If you want scriptural confirmation of God's love as it intelligently works in the human food supply and in scripture start with Genesis - then God’s answer to Job - then Psalms 103 and 104 - then the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew.

Put it all together. Take a deep breath. Study a leaf, a blade of grass. Study the design of a bird, a fish, a flower. Study a whole grain. Study the stars. Take some holy thought. Connect the dots.

We don’t need to know every detail. We just need to trust the system. We need to trust the goodness of a natural potato, a whole grain, mother’s milk and such. We need enough respect not to mess things up.  With His words Jesus sanctified the relationship of man to mother earth and to a healthy natural organic food supply reflecting the love of the Creator. This is a gospel "secret" that has been hiding in plain sight for 2000 years.

But why keep it secret? What’s the wholeness of one life worth? Seven billion lives? Churches - help your flocks find a Pathway to Wholeness respectful of the standard expressed by Christ.

What did Jesus teach about breast-feeding?

It would seem to make sense that if God has a plan for adult human nutrition and wholeness He wouldn’t leave babies out.  Actually there are five references to breastfeeding in the New Testament...two in Matthew, one in Mark, and two in Luke. The most important is found in the gospel of Matthew, 21;16 because it reflects a specific divine attitude about the subject.

Some were upset that Jesus was getting too much praise from children in the temple who were crying "Hosanna to the Son of David". They asked Jesus "Didn’t He know what they were saying"? Jesus reply was..."Yes; have you never read 'Out of the mouths of infants and sucklings thou has perfected praise?"

Jesus is quoting from Psalm 8;2. The important word with respect to breastfeeding is "suckling". The Latin from the Latin Vulgate is LACTANTIUM or LACTENTIUM...a clear reference to milk. The Greek root word for the Latin translation is THELAZO meaning "to suckle". This is clearly not a general reference to babies or infants because the sentence already has a word for "infants" in it. The word "suckling" clearly refers not to any infant but to a NURSING infant.

The question is...why would Jesus use a reference to NURSING infants as an example of "perfected praise"? Wouldn't a simple reference to babies or children in general be enough to make His point?

Any mother or father who has watched the behavior of infants who are nursing or who have just finished nursing from a healthy and happy mother should know the answer to these questions. A nursing infant looking up into a mother's eyes will often show signs and make sounds of…PRAISE. Babies talk back.  There is a holy communion between mother and baby. Perhaps this is our world's clearest example of perfect love as well as perfect praise, and it doesn't stop there.

After nursing from a healthy and happy mother a baby will throw its hands back over its head in the position that all healthy babies sleep in. You will see the edges of tiny lips curl upward in a noticeable smile. It’s not a big smile, but it is a smile. It's one of the most beautiful smiles you will ever see on planet earth. That smile alone is PRAISE indeed.

As Jesus explained, a man's words tell you what's in his heart. In the "suckling" quote Jesus is clarifying what He says in many other places...that His heart is with children and babies and now also with nursing infants. It’s consistent. It makes perfect sense.

If the heart of Jesus is with nursing infants where should our hearts be if we want to follow Him…but there is more to the story.

More on mother’s milk…

Cow’s milk…human milk…goat milk…horse milk…dolphin milk…pig milk…it’s all white stuff. Why not mix them up and raise a goat on pig milk, a calf on horse milk, or a human baby on cow’s milk? Maybe God didn’t know what He was doing?

Like a baby deer a newborn calf may need strong legs quickly to run from a wolf or wild dog. We now know that cow milk has the perfect balance of minerals and amino acids and too much more to mention that a baby cow needs to develop big bones first and a small brain later.

On the other hand human mother's milk has the perfect balance of minerals, amino acids, and fatty acids that a human baby needs to develop a big brain and nervous system first with big bones not so immediately important. God knows that His children need a whole brain to help them learn to love Him and each other with their "whole minds" and to learn which way is up. There is also perfect support for a baby’s immune system and a bonding connection to a nearby heart beating with a mother’s love…a package deal…but the good news doesn’t stop there.

As reported by Jean Carper in USA Weekend Sept 26-28, 2008…"Who knew how dramatically it (breastfeeding) benefits a mother? I didn’t until I read a new Swedish study of 18,326 women, showing that mothers who breast-fed infants for 13 months or more were about half as apt to develop rheumatoid arthritis (RA) as those who did not breast-feed. Experts can’t fully explain the surprise, but they note that breast-feeding can change levels of immune-regulating hormones in ways that may discourage RA. There’s more: A large analysis last year concluded that breast-feeding also might protect mothers against type 2 diabetes and breast and ovarian cancer (more information at womanshealth.gov/breastfeeding).

Jesus had it right. Paul had it right - "all things work together for good". Modern nutrition agrees. The mystery question is…why has what Jesus thought and taught about breastfeeding been a gospel "secret" hiding in plain sight while breasts were exchanged for bottles and milk intended for a calf given to newborn human infants?

What did Jesus teach about wholeness?

We are told to "love the Lord your God with your WHOLE mind, heart, soul, and strength". This is the first commandment of both Old and New Testaments, but who is telling us how to do this?

It would seem easier to love a God who blesses us with some goodness and wholeness in the creation that surrounds us, including our food supply. It would seem easier to "give thanks" for food that not only tastes great but also supports PERFECT HEALTH in our bodies. It would hardly make sense to "give thanks" for junk foods and drinks that make us sick.

It would also seem easier to love God with our whole minds if our brains were structurally more whole with a baby "formula" designed to create a big brain first and small bones later. The same goes if the left side of our brains worked in sync with the right side.

Whole brain synchronicity is reported to be quite rare in "advanced" societies among people past the age of five. How do we explain that?

Wholeness or "fullness"…same thing?

The New Testament is full of references to the "fullness" of Christ and God...true for both the King James version and Catholic translations. "Fullness" is another word for wholeness or completeness. "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead...and you are complete (made whole) in Him." (Col 2;9,10).

THE WORD OF CHRIST

Why the dis-connect between so much that needs healing and so few doing any healing? Why are so many babies on bottles when THE WORD clearly recognizes the wonder of breastfeeding and the mother-infant relationship? Why is there so much mal-nutrition when God made whole nutrition for all of us?

The answer to these and many questions may be found in the word of Christ. As we all know…"Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks". That explains much. If we truly want to know Jesus perhaps we need to chew on, digest, and assimilate what came out of HIS mouth and out of HIS heart?

For example…
"For every tree is known by its fruits. Men do not gather figs from thorns, nor harvest grapes from a bramble bush".

That’s a simple lesson in honesty, consistency, and wholeness. Jesus could have said "Do men gather milk from an animal and feed it to their babies"? "If My word is in you"…explains it all.

If we, His sheep, have been fed the healthy consistency of the Word of Christ and have His word in us we shouldn’t be making mistakes in baby formulas and genetic engineering of plants and animals and sick things like poisoning the water we drink and the air we breathe. When we see abominations of life in a "christian" society the questions to ask are…what have we been eating? What have we been drinking?

What are we being fed at the spiritual level? Junk food?

"Feed my lambs. Feed my sheep. Feed my Sheep".

How Wholeness heals all things

Instead of a thousand band-aids applied on this or that sick leaf or twig why not get to the ROOT of the problem?

What if we started planting a new kind of tree? What if we started the healing process at the seed and ground level by putting to work the healing power in "THE WORD" in pulpits and Sunday school classes throughout the land? Would the sick and the sickening at the branch and leaf level stay sick and sickening for very long?

Of course it takes time for a seed to grow and produce healthy fruit, but if you never plant the seed when will you ever get a healthy crop?

Many reading this can’t remember the day that cancer, heart disease, and diabetes were rare diseases. After antibiotics with communicable diseases under control and people living longer doctors said "people are living long enough to get them" referring to degenerative diseases of old age. But in some societies people live long enough and do not get them. Alzheimer’s at ever younger ages…babies born with arthritis…high school athletes falling over from heart attacks…are they living long enough to get them?

Without wholeness taught from the highest level of moral authority how can you expect to find it at a lower level? It should be no surprise to find it missing at the birth level and all that comes later on in life. It should be no surprise to find it missing at the ground level and all things higher up that you can think of including the working of the human brain.

There is wholeness in life but with wholeness missing at both higher and lower levels the children of God are caught in the middle. OUCH!

Let’s not blame God or Jesus for this. God did His part. Jesus did His part. But what are we hearing from those who stand between God and man speaking from pulpits?

It shouldn’t take long to realize that the ROOT problem is not at the "mother milk" level. The ROOT problem is at the "milk of the word" level (words used by Peter in his first letter referring to the word of Christ as "incorruptible seed"). When His word is in us how could we be misled by false gods and abominable violations of nature?

With HIS WORD in us a natural respect for the support system for our wholeness could and should have saved us from what we now see all around us.

What have we been eating? What have we been drinking? What are we being fed? Every word of this report has just one purpose…to point to the healing power in the "milk of the word".

Let’s not cry over spilt milk but why keep spilling what is precious when It has such power to heal all things at the ROOT level of life?

MASTERY

"It is the Spirit that gives life" can never be repeated too often.

The same goes for
"It is enough that the servant be as the Master". We can settle for "life" that leads to death or we can strive for Mastery that rises above all things.

We can go up or down. Sideways is not an option.

God has told us not to settle for anything less than perfect health, perfect love, and perfect life. We can ignore that or think it not possible, or we can believe it and make it happen.

Nutrition-for-Life
as a Pathway to Wholeness is consistent with the
"heal thyself" standard of Christ. Give both body and soul good food and the door opens to healing at all levels.

What else do we want? What less should we settle for? What do we deserve? What do our babies deserve? .

It matters what we learn and teach about the WORD OF CHRIST. It matters if the leader of a country or a church has a whole brain and a whole heart. It matters what you do after you finish reading this report.

"Whatsoever things you have done (or done not) for these the least of My breathren, you have done (or done not) for Me".

Up or down; sickness or health; peace or war; life or death; control or victimhood; mastery or misery; heaven or hell…it all matters.

It matters to a Father in heaven if we "Hear Him" or if we turn a deaf ear to a beloved Son in Whom He was and is "well pleased".

Mystery of wholeness - Mastery of life

The words underlined in the scriptural quotes below make clear the purpose of the gospel of Christ. We are "complete in Him".

Colossians 2;9,10: "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power".

Colossians 1;19: "For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell".

John 1;16: "And of His fullness have we all received, and grace for grace".

Ephesians 3;14-19: "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man: That Christ may live in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you may be filled with all of the fullness of God".

Ephesians 4:13: "Until we come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ".

Colossians 3:16: "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom...."

John 18; 20,21: "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also who shall believe in Me through their word; that they may be ONE; as you Father are in Me and I in you, that they also may be one in us..."

1 Cor 3;16: "Don’t you know that you are the temple f God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?"

John 15;4: "Live in Me and Me in you". As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in Me".

Great commandment - Deuteronomy 6:4,5; also quoted by Jesus in Mark 12:29,30: "Hear O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord: and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength"(note the all/wholeness emphasis).

1 Cor 13;7: Love...."bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things".

WHOLENESS = experience of the "fullness of Christ".

Smile. There is wholeness in life.
